Who pays the VoltLancer subscription?

The $50 monthly subscription is paid entirely by the client. Nothing is ever deducted from a freelancer's earnings.

What happens during the trial period?

Every engagement starts with a two-week trial. If you are not satisfied with the engineer's performance, you pay nothing for that trial period, and you may trial up to three separate candidates for the same role.

Can I get a refund or cancel?

If our team fails to introduce a suitable candidate, you can request a refund of up to one month of subscription. Cancellation is possible with at least three days' notice before your next billing date.

These terms describe how companies and individuals engage engineers through VoltLancer, what the subscription covers, and how the trial, refund and cancellation rules work. Version 2026-07-client-v1.

Cost policy — paid by the client only

On VoltLancer the $50 monthly subscription is fully paid by the client and is never deducted from freelancer earnings. Engineers keep 100% of what they invoice for their work.

1. What the subscription includes

Full access to the private VoltLancer platform and talent network
Rigorous technical vetting and assessment of candidates by domain specialists
Introductions to verified, vetted electrical engineering talent
Expert-led smart matching: an advisor reads your brief and hand-picks the shortlist
Unlimited project briefs and ongoing advisory support while your subscription is active

2. Two-week risk-free trial

Every engagement begins with a trial period of up to two weeks. If you are not satisfied with the engineer's performance during that period, you pay nothing for the trial. You may evaluate up to three separate candidates for the same role, each with its own trial, until you find the right fit.

3. Refund policy

If our team is unable to introduce a suitable candidate for your role, you may request a refund of up to one month of subscription. Refund requests are reviewed by the VoltLancer team and processed to the original payment method.

4. Cancellation

You may cancel at any time by giving at least three days' notice before your next billing date. Access remains active until the end of the paid period; no further charges are made after cancellation.

5. Commission and payments to engineers

VoltLancer takes 0% commission from either side. Project fees, invoices, contractual terms and any financial dispute are agreed directly between you and the engineer. VoltLancer does not hold funds and is not a party to those agreements.

6. Your obligations

Provide accurate company or personal details when registering
Describe the project scope, constraints and budget honestly in your brief
Do not attempt to bypass agreed terms or misrepresent trial outcomes
Respect the confidentiality and intellectual property of introduced engineers

7. Confidentiality and IP

Information shared in a brief is visible only to VoltLancer advisors and the engineers you are matched with. Ownership of work product is defined in your direct agreement with the engineer; we recommend confirming IP assignment in writing before the trial begins.
